There are two main forms of treatment—inpatient and outpatient. Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is designed to provide our patients with a high level of care, while also giving them the freedom they need to meet at-home obligations (such as work and family). The Next Step Recovery IOP program in Raleigh is 12 weeks long and is designed both for alcohol and/or drug addiction rehabilitation. Our patients visit the facility 3 to 5 days a week for a few hours at a time.
During IOP, patients will be given tools to help them overcome current struggles, as well as strategies for long-term sobriety. The goal is to provide our patients with life skills that will allow them to continue to thrive once their time at our facility is complete. Patients receive individual therapy, group counseling, 12-step education, and more for a well-rounded approach to recovery.
If you have any questions about the IOP treatment program at Next Step Recovery in Raleigh, reach out today. We’d be happy to discuss forms of treatment, costs, insurance, and answer any questions as they arise.
There is healing power in the outdoors!
Spending time outside has a whole host of physical, mental, and emotional benefits. Our patients find a lot of peace and serenity during our Wilderness Adventure Therapy. This type of therapy also allows them to develop positive new habits and a community that is supportive of their healing journey.
With our Wilderness Adventure Therapy, patients can spend more time outdoors having a blast. Some of the activities we offer include:
12-step programs are perfect for complementing what patients learn during their stay at Next Step Recovery. Through 12-step programs, patients can learn valuable, lifelong skills that will help with their journey to sobriety. 12-step programs provide patients with peer support and allow them to work with others that are suffering from the same disease of addiction.
Mentorship and community are major components of 12-step programs. Through this community, patients find strength, support, and additional accountability. Those in 12-step programs learn humility, acceptance, honesty, accountability, and so much more.
12-step programs are anonymous, which allows people to visit meetings, share, and open up without fear. Our patients find that they can open up about things that are troubling them, and they are supported by a group of people that understand and can empathize.
Whether our patients are actively part of our IOP program or they have graduated, we encourage them to join a 12-step program to get some extra support throughout their journey.
We believe in a diversity of different approaches to recovery and mental health at Next Step Recovery in Raleigh. Two powerful forms of therapy that we provide for our patients include Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Both have been proven to provide relief, lower stress, and ease anxiety. Whether it is for distress tolerance in the most difficult of times or ongoing serenity, these two therapies help to provide our patients with a strong toolset for a variety of occasions.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) helps patients to better understand their behaviors and thought patterns so they can be properly addressed.
With CBT, patients can use logic to identify and address their harmful thought patterns. Once they can identify them, our patients can remove the negative behaviors and habits—while also learning more positive behaviors and habits to replace them with.
The combination of CBT and DBT provides patients with powerful tools to help throughout the entirety of their recovery journey.
CBT is a proven method that helps patients suffering from:
DBT stands for “Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.” With DBT, patients are better able to handle and address their emotions during tough times. When difficult feelings arise, DBT helps patients to address these feelings safely, while still validating their emotions.
Both during addiction treatment and after, we know our patients will face many different stressors that will challenge their resolve. DBT helps patients to navigate these stressors and make it through the hardest of times.
With DBT, patients learn about:
Exercise can provide a whole host of benefits. Not only is exercise great for our physical health, but it is also excellent for our mental and emotional health and allows us to relieve some of the stress and anxiety we are feeling, while also providing a positive outlet for stress.
At Next Step Recovery in Raleigh, we offer different forms of Exercise Therapy. These include martial arts, yoga, meditation, and more. Through these different physical expressions, patients can connect with their bodies, feel a sense of mastery, and de-stress. Our patients find exercises like martial arts empowering, and exercises like yoga calming – all while providing benefits to the body and the mind.
Once our patients graduate from the Next Step Recovery treatment program in Raleigh, they can continue along their health and fitness journey with the help of the skills they learned during Exercise Therapy.
At Next Step Recovery, we ensure that our patients have the life skills they need to succeed in long-term recovery. Because of this, we ask that our patients attend class, work, or volunteer at least 30 hours a week. Patients are also required to attend support groups throughout the week to encourage growth and learn new skills.
These responsibilities not only create a sense of purpose but also prepare the patient to learn to balance their sobriety and care with the pressures of the outside world. We give our patients the tools they need to transition back to their daily lives and continue to be successful.
Choosing a recovery treatment center is a big decision. When deciding on a treatment center that will support you through your journey, Next Step Recovery provides some excellent benefits that make us the perfect choice when you are looking for a drug and alcohol treatment center in Raleigh.
Some of the things you should consider when choosing a treatment center include:
Creating a real and lasting bond is important for sobriety. We encourage a strong community at Next Step Recovery and help our patients to form friendships and bonds that last beyond the treatment center.
We don’t just subscribe to one method of treatment at Next Step Recovery. We understand that addiction is a complex disease, and so our treatment plan is multi-faceted. This includes DBT, CBT, Exercise Therapy, and other forms of healing that increase the chances of success for our patients.
Structure helps to create a sense of normalcy and peace. It can be hard to get sober in a chaotic and unstructured environment.
