Intensive Outpatient Alcohol Rehab and Drug Rehab in Greenville

The Intensive Outpatient (IOP) alcohol and drug treatment program at Next Step Recovery in Greenville is built around teaching our patients lifelong skills that will help them to maintain long-term sobriety. The program also addresses the root issues that lead to their addiction. Our goal isn’t to just provide short-term support – but a plan for long-term recovery. That’s why we offer a multi-faceted treatment approach with a variety of different treatment methods.

The IOP treatment program at Next Step Recovery is 12 weeks and involves patients visiting our facility 3 to 5 days a week for a few hours at a time. Our IOP treatment program is ideal for those that have outside family and work obligations but still require treatment for their addiction.

With our Intensive Outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program, we provide patients with group therapy, individual counseling, Wilderness Adventure Therapy, 12-step education, and more. Addiction looks different to everyone, so we offer a variety of treatment options so our patients can understand which method is the best fit for them.

Our goal is to provide you with all of the skills you need to overcome triggers and find lasting happiness in sobriety. You’ll learn outstanding coping mechanisms that are proven to be effective, while also learning how to recognize and address behavior patterns that lead to negative life outcomes. If you have any questions about our Intensive Outpatient treatment program, reach out to Next Step Recovery today.

Wilderness Adventure Therapy

One of the biggest concerns we hear from patients is their worry that they’ll be bored in sobriety or will struggle with relapse because their previous habits centered around drug and alcohol use. The Wilderness Adventure Therapy program at Next Step Recovery shows patients positive new habits that are fun, and suitable for life after their formal treatment.

Additionally, Wilderness Adventure Therapy builds important skills for long-term sobriety. Patients can practice mindfulness and be in the moment and are able to connect with others and build a community that leads to lifelong friendships.

Our patients build their strength and resolve, learn discipline, and discover that they can have a good time while sober through our Wilderness Adventure Therapy program. Some of the fun activities we offer with our Wilderness Adventure Therapy program include:

Greenville 12-Step Programs

We strongly believe in 12-step programs at Next Step Recovery in Greenville and their efficacy, and encourage all of our patients to participate in these community-centered programs. 12-step programs allow patients to work through the root causes of their distress, make peace with their past, and encourage acceptance, humility, kindness, and peace.

DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) both allow patients to overcome difficulties and handle stressors that occur in their day-to-day lives. CBT and DBT offer coping skills that help with distress tolerance, while also addressing the underlying behaviors and feelings that lead to poor outcomes and negative emotions.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) offers a logic-based approach to removing negative thought patterns and behavioral patterns. It is only when a patient can acknowledge their patterns that they can address them. With CBT, patients can replace those harmful thought patterns and emotions with positive ones. This leads to better stability, health, and happiness.

CBT is a proven method that helps patients suffering from:

Dialectical Behavior Therapy

DBT allows patients to manage their feelings and emotions when challenging situations arise. While patients need to acknowledge that their feelings (even negative ones) are valid, they can address them in a positive and proactive way. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy provides patients with the tools they need to de-stress and find peace during recovery.

There are a lot of triggers and stressors that patients experience not only in early recovery but throughout their lifelong journey of sobriety. It is our goal at Next Step Recovery to provide our patients with effective tools for distress tolerance and emotional regulation. With DBT, patients learn about:

Exercise Therapy

Exercise is a great way to be in the moment, de-stress and develop positive coping tools. Our Exercise Therapy program is designed around purposeful exercise and includes yoga, meditation, and martial arts. This form of therapy promotes healing by providing our patients with a sense of accomplishment and mastery and leads to improved self-esteem and confidence.

Our Exercise Therapy program also encourages our patients to connect and work together. This strengthens their bonds and helps them in forming a strong community based around recovery that individuals can take out into the world long after their formal treatment has ended.

Life Skills

At Next Step Recovery, we ensure that our patients have the life skills they need to succeed in long-term recovery. Because of this, we ask that our patients attend class, work, or volunteer at least 30 hours a week. Patients are also required to attend support groups throughout the week to encourage growth and learn new skills.

These responsibilities not only create a sense of purpose but also prepare the patient to learn to balance their sobriety and care with the pressures of the outside world. We give our patients the tools they need to transition back to their daily lives and continue to be successful.
