Our IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) is 12-weeks long and is for those struggling with drug or alcohol abuse. During this time, we provide our patients with the tools and coping mechanisms that will help to keep them sober and navigate through early sobriety.
With outpatient treatment, our patients visit the Next Step Recovery facility for 3 to 5 days a week, for a few hours per day. While they are visiting our facility, they receive individual counseling, group therapy, and 12-step education. These three areas of recovery work extremely well to create lasting sobriety.
If you would like more information about our IOP program, 12-step education, group therapy, individual therapy, or anything else related to our recovery program, reach out today. We’d be happy to answer any questions.
Through our Wilderness Adventure Therapy, we show our patients that there are a lot of great activities they can do sober while helping them develop positive habits to rely on when their addiction treatment is complete.
With our Wilderness Adventure Therapy program, patients also learn excellent coping mechanisms that help them not only with early sobriety but also with long-term sobriety. Patients learn discipline, strength, and develop an uplifting community that can be beneficial for long-term healing.
Wilderness Adventure Therapy allows patients to spend more time outdoors participating in a variety of activities, including:
12-step programs offer an additional level of support, centered around community, honesty, and healing. With the help of 12-step programs, patients can better learn humility, acceptance, patience, honesty, forgiveness, and other lifelong skills that will help them along their journey of recovery.
These recovery programs are not based on any specific set of religious beliefs, but instead centered around the fact that you do not need to handle your challenges alone!
Through 12-step programs, patients can better get to the root of their addiction so they can address the underlying issues. This is done in a caring and peaceful environment, surrounded by others that understand their struggle and are rooting for their success.
When it comes time to start their journey of sobriety, we encourage our patients to work the steps of a recovery program in addition to the therapy provided by Next Step Recovery in Greensboro. These programs provide an excellent resource, even when formal addiction treatment has been completed.
Next Step Recovery in Greensboro has a major focus on both Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Both of these forms of therapy are powerful, and they allow patients to address their stress, discomfort, and anxiety, while also learning the tools they need to persevere through difficult times.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is focused on addressing negative thought patterns and behaviors so they can be addressed helpfully and healthily.
With CBT, patients are encouraged to address their negative thought patterns using logic. Once they learn more about their negative behaviors and habits, they can work to remove them and replace them with positive habits and behaviors – another crucial element of long-term recovery.
CBT is a proven method that helps patients suffering from:
DBT is a form of therapy that encourages patients to address difficult feelings as they surface, while also validating and accepting them. With Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, patients are better able to manage their emotions through tough times.
There are many triggers and stressors that patients will experience in their daily lives as they continue their recovery journey. With DBT, patients are better able to stay resilient in the face of distress and make it through their most difficult moments. DBT helps patients not only during treatment but also after graduation from our recovery program in Greensboro.
With DBT, patients also learn about:
It is important to take care of your body as well as your mind, especially in the early stages of sobriety. That’s why we offer exercise therapy as a healing modality at our rehab facility. The intentional exercise that makes up our exercise therapy is built around mindfulness, along with physical health. We offer yoga, meditation, and martial arts—all of which provide our patients with a sense of accomplishment and a positive coping mechanism to rely on in the future.
Our exercise therapy program is relaxing, empowering, and engaging. This allows our patients to connect with their bodies and other patients, while also focusing on the present moment – an important skill when overcoming addiction.
At Next Step Recovery, we ensure that our patients have the life skills they need to succeed in long-term recovery. Because of this, we ask that our patients attend class, work, or volunteer at least 30 hours a week. Patients are also required to attend support groups throughout the week to encourage growth and learn new skills.
These responsibilities not only create a sense of purpose but also prepare the patient to learn to balance their sobriety and care with the pressures of the outside world. We give our patients the tools they need to transition back to their daily lives and continue to be successful.
