The Next Step Recovery IOP (Intensive Outpatient) program is a 12-week treatment plan that involves patients visiting our facility 3 to 5 days a week for a few hours at a time. During this time, we teach our patients lifelong skills that help with long-term sobriety. We also employ different therapeutic methods that help to get to the root of the addiction. This allows our patients to work through issues surrounding addiction and develop skills to overcome negative behaviors.
IOP is an excellent choice for those that have outside obligations like family and work and can’t check into an inpatient facility. While patients reside at home with intensive outpatient care, they are still taught all of the same skills as inpatient patients. We understand that some patients aren’t able to check into a facility for months at a time. That’s why we offer a solution that allows for excellent treatment without missing out on life obligations.Â
During our IOP treatment, patients receive individual counseling, group therapy, 12-step education, exercise therapy, and more. As addiction is a complex disease, our approach is multifaceted to combat it. The therapeutic methods we employ will help you to tolerate distress and triggers that will arise in early recovery, while also digging deeper into the causes of the addiction.Â
The skills learned at Next Step Recovery aren’t just for early recovery! These are lifelong skills that you can continue to use after graduation from our facility. If you have any additional questions about IOP and our Intensive Outpatient program, reach out to Next Step Recovery today. We’d be happy to discuss IOP and what to expect in your healing journey.
There is nothing quite as peaceful and relaxing as spending time in the great outdoors. Nature allows us to connect with the world around us, practice mindfulness, connect better with our bodies, and regulate stress. It’s all of these benefits and more that led us to create our Wilderness Adventure Therapy program.
During Wilderness Adventure Therapy, patients learn important life skills that help along the journey of sobriety. They also work with others and build a sense of comradery and community. It is our goal for our patients to work together and build relationships that encourage accountability and long-term sobriety while developing positive new coping skills.
Beyond all of these benefits, Wilderness Adventure Therapy is fun! Wilderness Adventure Therapy shows our patients that they can have an excellent time without the need for a drug or drink.Â
With Wilderness Adventure Therapy, our patients learn discipline, build their resolve, and discover the possibility of a fun and active sober life.
Some of the fun activities we offer with our Wilderness Adventure Therapy program include:
One aspect of our recovery program is 12-step support. 12-step programs have helped millions of people around the world to recover and live fulfilling lives.
Through 12-step programs, those struggling with substance abuse find that they are able to become part of a community that encourages honesty, integrity, and lasting sobriety. 12-step programs also offer patients anonymity—allowing them to share and connect with others along their sobriety journey without fear of judgment.
Through the 12 steps, patients are encouraged to connect with their spirituality while learning about accountability, honesty, humility, and acceptance. Those in 12-step programs are taught to let go of the pain they have experienced in the past, while also learning from their mistakes.
Our 12-step program allows you to not only learn outstanding tools for sobriety while in our rehabilitation program but also for life after rehab.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) provide our patients with life skills that allow them to overcome their stressors, combat triggers, and develop new behavioral patterns. Together, these provide our patients with the ability to de-stress and calm themselves during tough situations and create new patterns that lead to long-term sobriety.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) provides patients with a logic-based approach to eliminating negative behavioral and thought patterns and replacing them with positive ones. With CBT, patients can find more stability, peace, and happiness in their lives. It is only when you acknowledge these patterns and address them that you fully recover! Making this connection is a big part of overcoming addiction.
CBT is a proven method that helps patients suffering from:
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) helps patients to combat the effects of triggers and stressors by providing them with the coping mechanisms they need to tolerate and overcome these stressors and triggers. While our patients are encouraged to acknowledge their negative feelings, they are also shown how to address them in a positive and empowering way.
It can be difficult to find peace during distressing times when challenging emotions arise, such as the start of addiction recovery. DBT provides our patients with the tools they need to regulate their emotions and focus on mindfulness when things become overwhelming. Even after graduation from our program, patients can use DBT in their daily lives to get through difficult times and find peace.
With DBT, patients learn about:
Exercise allows us to release the stress we have been bottling up in a positive and rewarding way. With exercise, patients can de-stress and work through their emotions. Our Exercise Therapy program involves the use of intentional exercise, so patients not only de-stress but also learn skills in the process. This helps to build their self-esteem and provides them with a sense of mastery.Â
We offer yoga, meditation, and martial arts in our exercise therapy program. Each offering presents patients with the opportunity to engage in mindfulness and purposeful action. On top of these excellent benefits, our exercise therapy program helps to build a sense of community. Patients are encouraged to work together to accomplish their goals and better themselves through the movement that this therapy provides.
At Next Step Recovery, we ensure that our patients have the life skills they need to succeed in long-term recovery. Because of this, we ask that our patients attend class, work, or volunteer at least 30 hours a week. Patients are also required to attend support groups throughout the week to encourage growth and learn new skills.
These responsibilities not only create a sense of purpose but also prepare the patient to learn to balance their sobriety and care with the pressures of the outside world. We give our patients the tools they need to transition back to their daily lives and continue to be successful.
